In Ashes of Oahu, Kai may unlock a variety of abilities from the Akua. Depending on the faction rating, Kai also can gain access to more skills from the groups Islander, T.R.I, Hawaiian and Lava Dogs.

Hanauma Bay

• Uhane Tracking

Kai can sense nearby spirits and can track them.

• Spirit Bow

The power of the arrows grow with Kai's mana. Each additional level increases the damage of the bow.

• Explosive Arrow

Kai can concentrate mana into an explosive charge. Mana Cost: 1.

Unknown

• Mo'o Form - Kai can shapeshift into a great lizard (needs enough mana)
• Fireball - Pi´i ka´ena - "The heat rises". Kai can use a fireball to cause damage. Additional levels increase the power and damage of the flames. Mana Cost: 1

Islander

• Rifles
• Riding
• Investigator
• Hunter - Deal increased damage to animals. Damage increases with more levels.
